Beginning Jewelry and Metalsmithing-

Winter Quarter 2024 is 10 classes!

 

  • Come learn the art of jewelry and metals in a fun, relaxed,  focused and encouraging environment.

  • Project-based instruction! Projects change every quarter. A bezel setting for a cabochon covered every quarter.

  • Learn the basic techniques of jewelry fabrication and metalsmithing by making pieces such as earrings, bracelets, pendants, and rings. Students will learn hard silver soldering with a torch, piercing, finishing, forming, forging, and bezel stone setting.

  • $280 non-member includes $25 studio/lab fee

  • 3 hour class weekly- 10 weeks

Beyond Beginning: Intermediate Jewelry and Metalsmithing-

WINTER Quarter 2024 is 10 weeks! 

 

  • The next step in utilizing and reinforcing beginning skills and adding new techniques.

  • Reticulation, keum boo, tube setting, hydraulic press, step-bezels, cold connections, hollow forms, and wire construction are just some of the additional techniques that we explore while adding additional fabrication and soldering skills.

  • $365 non-member includes $25 studio/lab fee

  • 3 hour class weekly- 10 weeks

 

  • Monday night - Monday,  January 8 to March 11, 2024. No exception dates

  • 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm​

Intermediate/Advanced Jewelry Fabrication and Design- 

​

  • Gain confidence and satisfaction in your work by deepening your skills and focusing on personal aesthetic through one-on-one guidance on your independent projects as well as design/technique projects, group discussions and class demonstrations. Topics will include design, the creative process, taking your work to the next level, technical developments, and making a living as an artist.

  • $405 non-member includes $25 studio/lab fee

  • 3 hour class weekly- 10 weeks​

Jewelry UFOs and Independent Study-  3 classes/3-week sessions!

 

  • Come and finally finish your jewelry UFOs (Un-Finished Objects) or focus on independent work in the Spruill studio with one-on-one Instructor assistance and guidance. Students will have the support and information to successfully complete unfinished projects and/or have the needed input and suggestions in fabrication, technique, and design of independent work. This class has no specific projects or demonstrations, but rather individual help. Students also have the opportunity and option to develop additional problem-solving skills while listening to and watching during other student's jewelry "consultations". The class maximum is 8 students.

  • $180 non-member - 3 session bundle available 

  • 4 hour class weekly- 3 weeks​
